Nontraditional piece based on a photograph by Diane Barker. 

The figures of a nomadic mother and child in a tent in eastern Tibet are hand-stitched with traditional techniques and then superimposed on the photo printed on cotton canvas. 

The finished work is stretched on a rigid wooden frame.
